Back Pain Treatment

Any type of back pain is debilitating, but fortunately chiropractors are proven back pain specialists. Back pain can affect anyone, whatever age they are, but is most common in people between 35 and 55. Rarely, there may be a serious underlying cause of back pain, which will require a different course of back pain treatment. Chiropractors are able to determine the best course of back pain treatment once they have identified the cause through taking a health history and conducting a thorough medical examination.

Nine out of ten people with back pain have no underlying condition, and their pain may be caused by a number of factors including standing, sitting or bending down for long periods; lifting or carrying loads that are too heavy or the wrong way; tripping or falling; being anxious or stressed or being overweight. Chiropractic back pain treatment will help to relieve the pain and restore the normal range of motion through spinal manipulations that take the stress off the surrounding tissues.

During the course of back pain treatment, chiropractors correct subluxations (when one or more of your spinal bones or vertebrae has moved out of position to create pressure on spinal nerves and irritate them) which may cause the back pain. Chiropractors carry out these spinal adjustments using their hands to apply pressure to the spine to re-align the vertebrae, which in turn helps to restore mechanical function and the function of the nervous system and stimulate the body’s healing process.
